Film Reviews

  • Mood: Joy
  • Listening to: OSTs (From Ink to Claymore to Higurashi)
  • Reading: Dostoevsky, Claymore manga
Recently watched Bella, Bionicle:The Legend Reborn, and Kill Bill vol. 1 & 2.

Kill Bill was mostly just an angry woman running around with a sword all the while spreading cartoonish violence with comical fake blood squirting around everywhere she goes. As usually with most revenge quests, it all ends happily albeit covered in blood and gore. Of course, this was not meant to be a film worth noting for its story or originality. Either way, I must be one of the few who didn't like watching Kill Bill. So what can I say. I used to really enjoy this stuff. But now, I've gotten tired of it all. Too much violent anime warps your mind.

All I can say about Bionicle is that at least it's more developed and more fluidly animated than its other predecessors (There were 3 that came before). The plot is still underdeveloped, the characters are still flat but barely likeable, and the dialogue still.......sucks. The comics are actually pretty enjoyable and much more action-packed than the films. Well, I shouldn't expect too much from a kid's movie. At least it's not as horrible as what's smoldering on the Disney Channel. What the hell are kids watching nowadays?!

Bella was very, very heartwarming and sincere in its approach towards addressing hard issues in society from facing the possibility of unemployment to abortion. The storytelling is so smooth that I felt myself becoming emotionally attached to the characters and actually sympathize with them. By the end of the film, I gained a greater appreciation in life and how thankful one must be to be alive.

Such is life, so we must live.

Film, art, and writing are a very powerful media. One can either abuse it or use it just as long as it expresses what you feel.

Hey, Rabbit.
Just like to know, what college are you studying at? And what's your major? :)

Well, I'm a freshman at UC San Diego, majoring in Neuroscience.

It may sound ambitious, but actually I'm really enjoying what I'm doing. :)

What about you? What college are you studying at and what major? :)

The stupid questions are the ones you know the answers to but you ask them anyways.

But go ahead, ask away...- Death, Books of Magic

Oh, that sounds interesting.
If to talk about me, I'm in my Senior year, entering a college next year. What major will it be? Design, Illustration, Architecture.. Something along those lines. If to be sincere, animation interests me the most. So bad that I don't have enough time and there're almost no perspectives for an animator in my country. Well, I plan to to get some more drawing, paining and designing skills at first, plus I'll learn 3ds Max and Adobe After Effects and will keep that all as a hobby. We'll see then. :D

You're welcome!!

Higurashi is possibly one of the most intriguing anime ever made............much more suspenseful than Death Note! (people-killing book, HA)

Our appeals have been ignored, it is now apparent that the Republic and the Jedi favor our enemy.
General, you are our last hope against the Huk in this war, may the spirits of our ancestors watch over you and your troops.
