Reading: bad webcomics
Lately nowadays, I've been looking through some various reviews for several webcomics from the very best the other end of the spectrum. It's a given that what everyone strives for is some quality writing with characters whom we, the audience, can relate to as well some from fantastic art to see. However, it seems that a great many people tend to have their own idea of what makes a webcomic "bad." While it is generally agreed that if a comic solely revolves around the same gag and has characters whom we could care less about then we wouldn't have a high opinion of it, sometimes a few would "like" it for their own personal reasons.
What I'm looking for is what particular element of any comic out there turns people off.
Is it necessarily artwork so horribly drawn it might as well have been made on MS Paint with someone repeatedly banging his/her head on the keyboard until something coherent appears on the screen?
Is it solely about characters who either are vain douchebags, thin-veiled self-inserts of the creator, or just simply cliches of characters we've seen before?
Or is it something else?
